Matrix is an early-stage (5 employees; pre-product; recently raised $3M from Galaxy, Samsung, Sam Altman, Dapper Labs, etc.) startup looking for a frontend leader who will play a key role in helping us build out our engineering and design teams.

You'll be responsible for creating 3D models and animations used for our app. Many of the actions people take in the app will have animated feedback to make it feel more like a video game. Your job is to model these objects and animate them.

You are:

• interested in the creator/digital economy and building out new entertainment systems
• excited about crypto, the possibilities of decentralization, and the future of ownership
• happy to work in uncertainty and ambiguity while making decisions
• able to wear many hats and are very flexible. We are a small company, and need people to extend beyond their immediate job
• able to move and ship quickly, while iterating on prior products
• ideally a gamer and passionate about video games

You will:

• Work with our interface designer & PM to produce animated 3D renders for icons and processes (e.g. chest opening, level up)
• Work with frontend engineers to implement animations in final product

Qualifications:

• Comfortable with modeling and animation software
• Experience with animation web frameworks (Ex. Lottie) is a bonus
